3 Daily Fantasy Football Players to Avoid in Week 5
You blinked, and 25 percent of the NFL season has disappeared. With four weeks of data to go off, the 2016 season data means more than ever.
As always, we'll be using our Net Expected Points (NEP) metric to help identify a quarterback, a running back, and a wide receiver who you should consider avoiding in Week 5.
Last week, the three players who landed on this list were Jameis Winston, Latavius Murray, and Terrelle Pryor.
Winston, priced at $7,100 struggled against the mighty "No Fly Zone" defense of the Denver Broncos. He attempted 35 passes but threw no touchdowns and was intercepted twice. Winston scored 13.1 FanDuel points.
Murray was dreadful, rushing 8 times for 19 yards. He scored 3.4 FanDuel points. Murray is now likely to never be seen or heard from again in an Oakland Raiders uniform thanks to the imminent explosion of DeAndre Washington.
Pryor didn't set the world on fire, but he had a somewhat respectable day with 12.5 FanDuel points. His ownership was around 14 percent in tournaments. I anticipated it being much higher. If you played him last week, he didn't ruin your roster (like Jamison Crowder did).
In DFS, the best players aren't always the best plays for a particular week. Salaries, matchups, and projected ownership all need to be considered when building lineups. With that said, here are three players you should keep on the bench for FanDuel's main slate in Week 5 of the NFL season.
