If you rostered Richard Rodgers in Week 5, the only satisfaction you got out of it was feeling like you might actually be more athletic than an NFL player as you watched him lumber around the field. That's the risk that comes with rostering players who are #NotGood. However, there were a few positives to take away from Sunday's game that might make it worth it to go back to the well with Rodgers in Week 6.
With Jared Cook out last week, Rodgers played more offensive snaps than any other player on the Green Bay Packers, accounting for 91 percent of their snaps. The Packers have thrown to their tight ends 6.25 times per game so far this season, and in Week 5, it was more of the same, with Rodgers accounting for all 5 of the tight end targets.
This week, Rodgers and the Packers will face the Dallas Cowboys, who had given up the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends heading into Week 5. They gave up another usable fantasy performance to an average tight end this week, allowing C.J. Uzomah to catch 5 passes for 43 yards.
It's not going to feel good to plug Rodgers into your lineup after watching him catch one pass for six yards last week, but his touchdown upside while playing with Aaron Rodgers makes him worth a look in deeper leagues.
