Fantasy Football: Redrafting the First Round After 5 Weeks
4. Demarco Murray, RB, Tennessee Titans
Perhaps the biggest surprise and best value in fantasy so far this season, DeMarco Murray jumps from a preseason ADP of 47th overall to 4th overall in this redraft. While exotic smash mouth hasn't been kind to any Titans offensive player other than Murray, his volume and production have allowed him to ascend back to fantasy prominence after being written off following his disastrous 2015 season with the Eagles.
While many assumed he was run into the ground following his 400-touch season in Dallas in 2014 led to a dismal showing last year, Murray looks rejuvenated in Tennessee, posting numbers as both a powerful runner and a valuable and consistent receiver.
He is currently the second-highest scoring non-quarterback in fantasy behind only David Johnson, and he's posted double-digit fantasy points in each of his first five games. Murray is tied with Johnson for second in the NFL in Rushing Successes (43), sixth in the NFL in carries (93), and sixth in the NFL in Rushing NEP (6.2).
Yet it's as a receiver where Murray has really separated himself from the pack, and he is currently second in the NFL for receptions by a running back (24) behind only Theo Riddick, and he is second in the NFL in Target NEP (points added on all targets) behind only Tevin Coleman.
Concerns about the Titans offense moving forward are perhaps the only question marks about Murray's value, but there is no doubt he has been a monster through five games.
