Week 6 NFL FanDuel Tournament Pivots
Wide Receiver
Chalk:
Antonio Brown, $9,700 at Miami Dolphins - Antonio Brown against Miami's secondary just doesn't seem fair. The only thing that may keep his ownership somewhat in check is his restrictive price tag. Speaking of price tags, Cameron Meredith ($5,400) makes rostering Brown and other studs a lot easier. He should be a popular option coming off of a big week. T.Y. Hilton has been playing phenomenally lately and should be popular in a projected shootout.
Pivots:
Jordy Nelson, $8,300 vs Dallas Cowboys - Jordy Nelson is tied with Larry Fitzgerald for the league lead in touchdown catches, despite already having his bye week. He has seen incredible volume for the Green Bay Packers this season, accounting for a 29 percent market share of Aaron Rodgers' targets, as well as a whopping 48 percent of the red zone targets. On the year, he leads the NFL in red zone targets per game (2.5), which makes his 5 touchdown catches through four games seem a lot more sustainable.
It's only a matter of time until Nelson shakes off some of the rust and his career-low 6.1 yards per target begins to represent something more similar to his 10.3 career mark prior to this season. If he is able to start racking up yardage like he has in years past and his red zone usage remains anywhere near what it is right now, Nelson could begin to post some scary numbers.
Amari Cooper, $7,100 vs Kansas City Chiefs - Following a 24.8-FanDuel-point output last week, it's a bit surprising that Amari Cooper hasn't been talked up more this week, especially given his conservative price tag. The Kansas City Chiefs are often thought of as an intimidating defense, but without Justin Houston, they have really struggled to pressure the quarterback this season, ranking second to last in quarterback hurries on the season. People are likely scared off by reigning Rookie of the Year, Marcus Peters, too, who is much more of a boom-or-bust player than a lockdown corner at this point in his career.
Peters also stays on the right side of the field for the majority of his snaps (90 percent, via Pro Football Focus), while Cooper runs just 23 percent of his snaps on that side. Cooper should have no trouble against Kansas City's defense that was most recently seen being thrashed by Antonio Brown and company for 204 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Will Fuller, $6,900 vs Indianapolis Colts - Will Fuller was profiled as a boom-or-bust player entering the NFL, and following a 0.9-point FanDuel performance last week, people will likely be too scared off to take advantage of what a beautiful setup this is for Fuller. Teammate DeAndre Hopkins will have his hands full with one of the league's premier corners in Vontae Davis, which could very well funnel targets to Fuller against much softer coverage. Fuller is averaging more FanDuel points on just two fewer targets than Hopkins this season and has much more manageable individual matchups this week. Not only is he a pivot off of the higher-owned receivers, but he also provides a nice leverage play off of teammate Lamar Miller, who figures to be a popular play this week. Editor's note: Since this was published, reports suggest Fuller will sit this week with a hamstring injury.
