In a week where some of the top signal callers have less-than-ideal matchups, you may be tempted to roster Blake Bortles. Don't take the bait.
The Bortles garbage time narrative is spot on. He's leading the NFL in passing yards and pass attempts in the final 10 minutes of the game. That makes Bortles a decent option when the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to take a beating, which is fairly often, but things are a different story if Jacksonville is expected to win.
In his career, Bortles has been a markedly worse fantasy performer in victories.

This week, the Jags are 2.5-point favorites against the Houston Texans, so the volume-reliant Bortles won't see the volume, assuming the game script goes as expected.
Also, the matchup isn't good. Houston owns the fourth-ranked pass defense, per our metrics, and the Texans are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.
As an alternative, you can check out Trevor Siemian, who is also $7,300 and has a superb matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Jay Cutler, who is $300 cheaper, faces off with a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has been dismantled the past two weeks.
