Wide Receiver

Chalk:

Top options Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, and Mike Evans are all in excellent spots and should see decent ownership. If looking for value plays, Tyreek Hill is coming off a monster game and gets a Desmond Trufant-less Atlanta Falcons secondary, while Golden Tate faces a suspect New Orleans Saints defense. Both are under $6,000 and should be popular plays.

Pivots:

Odell Beckham, $9,000 (at Pittsburgh Steelers): Odell Beckham is coming off of a two-touchdown game and isn't going to go completely overlooked. I get that. However, of the four elite receivers, Beckham's matchup is the worst on paper (Pittsburgh Steelers are allowing the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game to opposing receivers).

Also, the elites at both quarterback and running back are in good spots this week too, meaning people aren't going to have the money to spend on Beckham in a "bad" spot.

While Pittsburgh has fared well against the receiver position from a fantasy perspective this season, they rank as the 11th-worst pass defense according to our schedule-adjusted NEP numbers, while also allowing the 11th-most passing yards per game. They've given up 100-plus yard games to Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace, and DeSean Jackson this season, three of which also featured a visit to the end zone.

If pivoting in tournaments, you want a player who offers tournament-winning potential. Considering Beckham has three multi-touchdown games in his past six contests, it's fair to say he fits the bill.

Willie Snead, $6,500 (vs Detroit Lions): Picking the correct New Orleans receiver has been a frustrating task this season. If you haven't had much exposure to the situation, just ask Brandin Cooks owners after last week's zero-target debacle. However, given New Orleans' slate-leading 29.75-point implied team total this week against a Detroit pass defense ranked 31st according to our metrics, people are almost forced to go back to the well.

If choosing among Brees' three favorite wide receivers, most daily fantasy players will be focused on Michael Thomas coming off a big game or the upside of Cooks in a squeaky-wheel narrative game.

Willie Snead appears likely to get lost in the shuffle, despite a terrific individual matchup against Quandre Diggs. Diggs has allowed 40 receptions on 44 targets (90 percent completion percentage), the only corner to have allowed above an 80 percent completion percentage, per Scott Barrett of Pro Football Focus.

Since their Week 5 Bye, Snead falls just one target short of Thomas for the team lead, while holding a nine-target advantage over Cooks. With the easiest individual matchup, it's not hard at all to envision a scenario in which Snead leads the team in targets. Paired with the fact that he will be cheaper and lower-owned than the other two receivers, he's at least worth giving a look as a tournament pivot.
