3 FanDuel Defenses to Target in Week 14

As always, the first step in our weekly FanDuel D/ST research is to find out who the Jacksonville Jaguars are playing. They’ve been the best matchup by far for opposing defenses in recent weeks -- in their last five games, they’ve allowed totals of 17.0, 2.0., 19.0, 12.0, and 11.0 FanDuel points.

The Minnesota D/ST has the honor of facing the Jags this weekend and as a result, they are our top-projected defense in four categories: points allowed, yards allowed, sacks, and interceptions. The Jaguars have the lowest implied Vegas team total this week at 17.75, and that number has already dropped 0.75 points since the line opened Sunday night. Our projections see them scoring just 15.34 points.

The only concern here is that stud safety Harrison Smith injured his ankle last week and could miss the rest of the season. It’s difficult to replace a player of Smith’s caliber, but the Jaguars probably won’t stop turning the ball over just because a top defender is absent.

The Vikings are the third-most expensive defense this week at $4,800, yet they are the safest cash-game option because of the matchup. They’re in play in tournaments, too, as a 20-point outburst is certainly in the range of outcomes.
