FanDuel Salary Changes: Week 15
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
FanDuel Price: $8,500
Salary Change: Up $500
Aaron Rodgers strained his calf against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14 and has yet to practice through Thursday of this week, but he’s fully expected to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Bears. Rodgers’ mobility could be limited and plays may be taken out of the game plan to avoid re-aggravation of the injury, though.
His lowest salary of the season ($8,000) came in Week 14 against one of the league's tougher pass defenses, so it makes sense to see it increase for Week 15. While the matchup looks better upon first glance, the Bears’ defense has actually been stingy at home -- they’ve allowed just five passing touchdowns in six home games.
It’s also going to be miserably cold in Chicago this weekend -- it’s expected to literally be zero degrees at kickoff. In the last three seasons, quarterbacks playing in below-freezing temps (less than 32 degrees) have reached cash game value just 40 percent of time and have hit tournament value just 6 percent of the time.
Given the weather, his nagging injury, and the price increase, it’s better to avoid Rodgers in all formats while opting for other quarterbacks offering similar upsides and safer floors.
