8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 16
Matt Barkley, QB, Chicago Bears
Starting Matt Barkley in Week 16 is going to feel rough. There's no way around that. But waiver wire quarterback options this week really are few and far between, and Barkley has shown some nice fantasy potential as the Chicago Bears starter this year.
He flashed some upside in his first start this season, throwing for 3 touchdowns while racking up 20 fantasy points in Week 12, and he had a decent game last week, finishing as the QB14.
Chicago's 22-point implied total this week is right around the league-average (22.2), and he draws a fairly good matchup against a Washington defense that ranks 25th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks on the season. That includes a 17-plus fantasy point performance to 7 of the last 8 quarterbacks they've faced.
