DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Helper for Week 16
Defense/Special Teams
High-Cost Option: New England Patriots ($3,600)
Massive 16.5-point home favorites, the New England D/ST will be a popular target this week. The Jets lead the league in interceptions and rank second in total turnovers. They also rank in the top 12 in most quarterback hits, and they just placed center Nick Mangold on injured reserve last week. The Patriots haven't been terribly opportunistic on defense, but they're averaging 12.3 fantasy points over their last three games and should be worth paying up for as heavy home favorites.
Mid-Cost Option: San Diego Chargers ($3,400)
Unlike the Patriots, the San Diego D/ST has been forcing turnovers like crazy, ranking second in takeaways on the season. Playing against the Robert Griffin III-led Cleveland Browns, the Bolts should be another heavily-owned D/ST unit. The Browns lead the league in both sacks and quarterback hits, and they are a team to pick on week in and week out.
Low-Cost Option: Arizona Cardinals ($2,600)
A bit of a more contrarian play, the Arizona D/ST looks like an under-the-radar unit, one that's been solid all season and could surprise against their NFC West divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals have recorded multiple sacks in five of their last six games and rank among the top 12 in both interceptions and fumble recoveries. The Seattle offensive line is nothing to write home about, surrendering the seventh-most quarterback hits and often forcing Russell Wilson to speed through his progressions. The last time these two teams played, the game ended in a 6-6 tie. Given their likely low ownership, the Cards make for a decent tourney play.
Other Options: Kansas City D/ST ($3,500), San Francisco D/ST ($2,800)
