DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Helper for Week 16
Wide Receivers
High-Cost Option: Mike Evans ($8,500)
Targeting high game totals is nothing new, and while Mike Evans had a disappointing 4-catch, 42-yard day just two weeks ago against the Saints, he's too good of a player to let that be a reason to fade him. Evans' target totals have gone down recently with the Bucs' offense slowing their pace. In fact, they have been the second-slowest team in the league over the past five weeks (preceding their Week 15 matchup with the Cowboys), according to ProFootbalFocus' Pat Thorman.
Evans runs the majority of his routes from the left side of the formation and should draw plenty of Ken Crawley in coverage. Crawley has been picked on by opposing quarterbacks quite frequently, being targeted on 22 percent of his routes in coverage and allowing 0.30 fantasy points per route defended. The Saints have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to wideouts, and it wouldn't be shocking at all to see Evans capitalize on that given his 30.7 percent target market share.
Mid-Cost Option: Michael Thomas ($6,000)
DraftKings decided to give us an early holiday present with Michael Thomas priced at just $6,000 this week. He takes on a Tampa Bay secondary that has given up the seventh-most touchdowns in 2016 while allowing nine wideouts to score at least DK points (three times cash value for Thomas). Thomas will run most of his routes against rookie Vernon Hargreaves III, who is allowing 0.29 fantasy points per route defended. Thomas -- who missed the Week 14 Bucs-Saints matchup -- has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but three games this season, and he enters this matchup with eight touchdowns on the year. Thomas has evolved into one of Drew Brees' top receiving options and comes at an $800 discount compared to Brandin Cooks, who draws arguably a more difficult matchup in coverage. Thomas leads the Saints' wide receivers in targets inside the 20-yard line (13) and 10-yard line (8), and he is a very affordable option this week.
Low-Cost Option: Pierre Garcon ($4,900)
Over the past seven weeks, Pierre Garcon has established himself as one of Kirk Cousins' favorite targets, leading Washington in targets, receptions and receiving yards. The Bears have allowed the 10th-most receptions to opposing wideouts this season. Garcon will likely see a lot of Cre'von LeBlanc and Tracy Porter, both of whom have underperformed, ranking as PFF's 72nd-ranked and 96th-ranked cornerback, respectively. Porter has been the worse of the two in coverage, allowing 0.24 fantasy points per route defended. The line continues to move Washington's way as Vegas has added 1.25 points to their expected total since opening.
Other Options: T.Y. Hilton ($7,800), Jordy Nelson ($7,000), Julian Edelman ($6,900), Golden Tate ($6,600), Michael Crabtree ($6,100), Emmanuel Sanders ($6,000), DeSean Jackson ($5,500), Malcolm Mitchell ($5,200), Ted Ginn Jr. ($4,500)
