5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 17
Ezekiel Elliott Led the NFL With 1,631 Rushing Yards
Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 318 more yards than any other player in the NFL this season, making him the first rookie to lead the NFL in rushing yards since Adrian Peterson in 2007. Amazingly, the runner-up to the rushing title this season was fellow rookie Jordan Howard, who didn't take over the starting role until Week 4.
This marks the second time in the past three years that a Dallas Cowboys player has led the NFL in rushing yards, with DeMarco Murray taking the crown in 2014.
Elliott did lead the NFL with 322 carries, but it was his efficiency that turned those touches into the 47th-most rushing yards in NFL history. Among all running backs with 150 or more touches, he ranked second behind only LeSean McCoy in Rushing NEP per carry with a clip of 0.11.
He was also very consistent, posting 80 or more rushing yards in 14 of his 15 games this season and becoming just the eighth player in NFL history to do so. Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for at least 80 yards in 15 games during the 2011 season, making him the only player to top 80 rushing yards in more than 14 games during a single season.
And, sticking with consistency, Elliott racked up double-digit fantasy points in all of his 15 games this season, making him the only non-quarterback to do so in 2016.
