Ranking the Quarterbacks Remaining in the NFL Playoffs
At the end of the day, in the NFL, almost everything comes down to quarterbacks.
Whether we love it or hate it, most people don't care about how many fourth-quarter comebacks a running back was involved in or how many wins a tight end has under his belt.
The importance of the quarterback just gets magnified in big games, especially the playoffs. Quarterback X "knows how to win" and Quarterback Y "can't get the job done." We've heard it all before.
And now that just eight teams remain in the NFL playoffs, we might want to give the illusory edge to whichever team has the "best" quarterback. Just who might that be, though?
These rankings may or may not (but definitely won't) sit well with everyone, but they aren't my personal rankings. This is simply a list of how the eight remaining quarterbacks fared during the regular season by our Net Expected Points (NEP) metric. NEP measures how well above or below a player played compared to expectation.
So, what does NEP think about the starting quarterbacks left in the playoffs?
