1. New York Jets

2015 nERD: 4.44
2016 nERD: -7.12
Change: -11.56

The New York Jets had a rough go in 2016 after a promising 2015 campaign that resulted in a 10-6 season and a +73 point differential.

It was their first positive point differential since 2011, having posted point differentials of -94, -97, and -118 in the three prior seasons. They outdid them all in 2016, as they were outscored by 134 points during the regular season.

Their -7.12 nERD suggested they were a full touchdown and extra point worse than an average team this season, and just about every facet is to blame.

The Jets ranked 30th in passing efficiency and 16th in rushing efficiency to culminate in the 30th-ranked offense by Adjusted NEP per play in 2016. They were 17th overall in 2015.

Defensively, they fell from 6th overall to 23rd. The pass defense was 7th in 2015 but 29th in 2016. The run defense was the only bright spot, as they ranked fourth in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play in 2016.
