Pittsburgh Steelers

Needs Entering Draft: TE, ILB, OLB, CB
Positions Drafted: QB, RB, WR, OLB, CB, S

The Pittsburgh Steelers really secured the replacements for an aging Steel Curtain in this class. Linebacker/edge rusher T.J. Watt was their first-round selection, and he’ll keep them from missing a beat when (read: if) James Harrison retires. Keion Adams will contribute there, too. Cameron Sutton should be a solid slot corner to upgrade a lagging secondary this year, as will safety Brian Allen (which also frees Mike Mitchell or Sean Davis to drop into the box and solve the inside linebacker need).

Pittsburgh didn’t get a tight end, but they did add second-round receiver insurance in JuJu Smith-Schuster, another big-time outside threat for them. Running back James Conner was a bit of a reach, but he’s a heartwarming story for the hometown team and should be the backup the Steelers wanted when they signed LeGarrette Blount a few years back. Joshua Dobbs is a developmental prospect that gives them long-term insurance if Ben Roethlisberger keeps threatening to retire.
