The Cincinnati Bengals brought in Brandon LaFell to help staunch the offensive bleeding after losing both Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones to free agency last year, and he had a solid season, posting 0.70 Reception NEP per target. This was the 36th-most among 92 receivers to see 50 targets or more last year, and a stark difference from 2015, which saw him plummet to 0.49 Reception NEP per target.

They may not need his services much longer, however. Serviceable slot man Tyler Boyd was a second-round pick last year and speedster John Ross was grabbed ninth overall this year to be the downfield presence in the Bengals’ receiving corps. LaFell will surely remain no worse than the fourth receiver in the offense, but as the 2017 season goes on, first-round pick Ross will be worked into the Cincinnati passing attack.
