28. Chicago Bears, -4.36 nERD

Well. The Chicago Bears have a quarterback. But. Um. There are reasons to question their short-term outlook.

After bringing in Mike Glennon in the offseason, they traded the third overall pick, a third-rounder, a fourth-rounder, and their 2018 first-rounder to draft Mitchell Trubisky second overall. That's a hefty price tag, and then throw in the fact that there are a lot of reasons to question Trubisky's collegiate track record, and it's fair to call them a little dysfunctional.

The buzz suggests that Glennon, who has thrown 11 passes since 2014, will be the man in 2017. In 2013 and 2014, he produced Passing NEP per drop back rates of -0.05 and 0.00, respectively, on 456 drop backs in 2013 and 219 in 2014. The league-average rates were 0.05 and 0.08 in those years, for context.

Also in the draft, they took Adam Shaheen, a tight end from Ashland. Shaheen has a promising athletic profile, but grabbing him 45th overall is a head-scratching choice.

That's especially true when the Bears not only ranked 32nd in Adjusted Rushing NEP per play in 2016 but posted the ninth-worst score among 542 teams since 2000.

They didn't use their five draft picks too wisely, and the Trubisky deal handcuffs them entering 2018. It could be a long season for Bears fans.
