C.J. Anderson Is Currently Denver's Workhorse

C.J. Anderson's 5.07 Average Draft Position (ADP) in July -- its lowest point throughout the offseason -- was frowned upon given the surrounding question marks in the Denver Broncos' backfield. Not only did the team snag rookie De'Angelo Henderson in the sixth round in April's draft, Denver also inked oft-injured yet explosive vet Jamaal Charles to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

And we haven't even touched on Anderson's average 3.97 yards per attempt before undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last October. Despite all that, he's clearly not locked into any timeshare early on this season.

His 71.7% snap rate currently ranks in the top 10 among running backs while having received 50% of Denver's carries inside the five-yard line. No, his 1.19 Rushing NEP (11th overall among backs with at least 20 carries) admittedly won't turn any heads. His opportunity, though, remains apparent (at least in the short term) in a week that Denver travels to face a Buffalo Bills defense that that has performed rather well against the run thus far in 2017.
