Case Keenum, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Case Keenum was the third-best fantasy quarterback of Week 3 -- just like nobody expected. Keenum hung 369 yards and 3 touchdowns on Tampa Bay en route to outperforming a couple of dudes named Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.
Expecting a repeat performance is probably silly -- Keenum won't even start in Week 4 if Sam Bradford's balky knee is ready to go. On the other hand, whichever Minnesota Vikings quarterback is under center will face Detroit and Chicago in the next two weeks. They are, respectively, the 12th and ninth-most favorable fantasy matchups for quarterbacks so far this season. numberFire's Power Rankings peg Detroit's defense as third-worst against the pass, so if Keenum gets the call in Week 4, he could make for a viable streaming option. The game is projected to be close which often means teams are forced to stick with the pass in order to get a lead.
The bigger takeaway here regards the quarterback position in general. Here are five of the top-10 quarterbacks from Week 3: Keenum, Jacoby Brissett, Blake Bortles, Brian Hoyer, and Jared Goff. (Wait, what?) Quarterback is an eminently streamable slot, meaning you can typically find a quality starter on your league's waiver wire. This is called the "late round QB" strategy, first promulgated by some guy named J.J. Zachariason -- perhaps you've heard of it? In any case, the way this season is shaping up, there's no need to get hung up on having a stud quarterback on your fantasy team.
