The roller coaster ride that is the tight end position continued in Week 4, with our top performer heading into Monday once again being a player that probably no fantasy football owner started in Tyler Kroft. But Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce was there to save the day, posting 7 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown on Monday night, helping to keep his team undefeated.
A week after notching just one reception for one yard against the Chargers, Kelce was involved in every phase of the game Monday, catching deep passes, making plays in the end zone, and even taking direct snaps from center to run the ball.
At a position that has little consistency outside of perhaps Zach Ertz and Rob Gronkowski, Kelce continues to prove he is one of the best tight ends in football. And on an offense that is finding creative ways to deploy him each week, the hope is that his Week 3 stinker was simply an aberration and that his performance on Monday night was closer to the norm.
With Tyreek Hill struggling to get involved against the Washington Redskins, the Chiefs certainly needed Kelce to step up as their go-to playmaker against a really banged up defense, and he delivered. They now move forward to take on a Texans team that gave up 8 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown to Gronk just two weeks ago.
