DeAndre Hopkins Leads the NFL With 49 Targets

Through four games, DeAndre Hopkins is averaging a league-high 12.25 targets per game, with a low of 8 targets in Week 3 and a high of 16 targets in Week 1. That 16-target game ties him with Dez Bryant for the most targets in a game this season. Among all wide receivers, three of Hopkins' four games rank among the top-17 most-targeted performances this season.

The next heaviest targeted player on the Houston Texans is Bruce Ellington at just 13 targets. Hopkins has already seen at least that many in two separate games, and his 38.58% target share is 5.82% more than any other wide receiver this season.

Hopkins is on pace for 196 targets over a full 16-game season, which would be the 8th-most targets of any player since 1992. His previous career high of 192 targets in 2015 currently ranks 10th on that list.

The heavy workload has translated to the 6th-most yards of any receiver (311), but he has yet to score a touchdown. But with at least 7 catches in each game this season, his 74.10 PPR fantasy points still ranks third among wide receivers.

With his yardage totals increasing each week, Hopkins has a great opportunity to raise his average of 10.78 standard fantasy points per game going forward. Our model projects him for an average of 11.12 standard fantasy points over the remaining 12 games.
