Week 5 NFL FanDuel Salary Movers
Wide Receiver
Devin Funchess, Carolina Panthers
Week 4 Salary: $5,400
Week 5 Salary: $6,300
Devin Funchess has seen a quick ascension in daily fantasy, watching his salary climb $1,500 since Week 3. That shouldn't come as much of a surprise, considering his 19 targets and 2 touchdowns over the past two Greg Olsen-less weeks. Is he worth paying $6,300 for in a tough matchup against a Detroit secondary that has ranked third against the pass according to our metrics?
Well, if you believe Cam's play last week was a sign of things to come, then maybe. But with Kelvin Benjamin back in the fold and the Panthers not facing the Patriots, Funchess seems just a bit overpriced with the likes of Randall Cobb, Jarvis Landry, and Larry Fitzgerald just a few hundred dollars above him.
DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins
Week 4 Salary: $6,500
Week 5 Salary: $6,100
DeVante Parker, on the other hand, comes in as an ultimate buy-low candidate. Many expected an eruption from Parker against the New Orleans Saints last weekend, but smokin' Jay Cutler disappointed once again. The Miami Dolphins have now combined for just six points in their past two matchups (against the Saints and New York Jets!), so it may be hard for daily fantasy owners to trust them, even at their discounted price tags.
Please don't let that scare you off Parker, because this lines up as potentially the perfect get-right spot for Miami at home against a reeling Tennessee Titans team that could be without Marcus Mariota. While Parker hasn't seen the volume that Jarvis Landry has this season, his nine targets per game are still plenty for the explosive receiver to be effective. Only A.J. Green has a higher market share of his team's air yards than Parker, who also boasts the league's fourth-highest average depth of target (15.6 yards) among players with over 20 targets.
These downfield targets provide him with immense upside, especially in a plus matchup such as this. Tennessee ranks 29th against the pass according to our metrics and have given up eight receiving touchdowns over the past two weeks. It's tough to tell why Parker's price fell to the point that it did, but he is a viable play in all formats.
