Will Fuller, WR, Houston Texans
NFL.com Start Percentage: 9%
Week 5 Fantasy Points: 18.2
It happened again. For the second game in a row, Will Fuller scored two touchdowns. This week, Fuller's 2 scores and 57 yards came on just 2 catches, making him the fourth-best Week 5 wide receiver (NFL.com scoring) in fantasy.
For the season, Fuller now has 4 touchdowns on just 9 total targets, a ridiculous rate of 44 percent. That's clearly unsustainable. Since 2005, there have been 226 wide receiver seasons with 75 or more targets and 4 or more receiving touchdowns. Only once (James Jones, 2012) has a player had a season-long receiving touchdown rate greater than 14 percent.
So Fuller won't score as many touchdowns going forward, but that doesn't mean you should fade him entirely. Prior to Fuller's rookie season, we explained why you should draft him. Before his rookie season was derailed by injury, he put up some impressive performances. This year, he immediately stepped in as a starter and is off to another good start.
Our rest-of-season projections see Fuller as a borderline WR3 in fantasy, which means he should be rostered and is deserving of consideration for a start, depending on the matchup and the rest of your roster.
