Fantasy Football: 4 Players You Can Drop After Week 6
Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets

Well, that was fun, I guess.
Earlier last week, it looked like Elijah McGuire was going to get his shot as the lead back against the New England Patriots' horrid run defense. With Bilal Powell likely to be out with a calf injury and Matt Forte missing Weeks 4 and 5 with turf toe, fantasy owners wisely scooped up McGuire off waivers for a chance at a one-time point-splosion from the rookie.
But as the week progressed, it became apparent Forte would play, and the enthusiasm for McGuire dampened. This reduced enthusiasm ended up being justified.
While Forte and McGuire did essentially split the rushing workload, it was clear that Forte remained the team's lead back with Powell on the shelf, garnering a whopping eight targets in the passing game to McGuire's zero.
Since the New York Jets will likely be playing come-from-behind football for the majority of their remaining games, the pass-catching running back is the piece you should most want a part of in this backfield. With Forte being that piece without Powell in the equation, and with Powell and Forte likely to share that load when he returns, McGuire looks to be the odd man out when it comes to fantasy production.
McGuire might be an intriguing piece later in the season when the Jets' record finally catches up to their suboptimal talent level and the team wants to get their rookies some valuable in-game experience before the season is over.
In the meantime, though, McGuire will provide little to no value. Drop him for a player with an ascendent role, like Marlon Mack.
