Tyrod Taylor Will Rise Again

The last time we saw the Buffalo Bills in Week 5, Charles Clay had reportedly suffered a torn meniscus and sprained MCL. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor attempted 25 passes once Clay exited against the Atlanta Falcons, but was admittedly miserable down the stretch. He finished 13-of-25 for 95 yards (3.8 yards per attempt) and an interception without his favorite target.

However, it's worth noting Nick O'Leary was targeted on 7 of those 25 attempts (a 28% share). Clay is currently the ninth-ranked tight end in Reception NEP, but Taylor has shown a propensity to pepper that position with targets no matter the player. Buffalo tight ends, for example, were targeted at the 10th-highest rate (22%) in 2016 and are currently being targeted at the 3rd-highest rate (28%) this season.

O'Leary isn't necessarily a true pass catcher, but he does have the opportunity to lead Buffalo in targets against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that's allowed the highest percentage of fantasy points to opposing wideouts (via AirYards.com). Of course, Jordan Matthews could also be the primary benefactor (despite a 13% target share when healthy) if he's able to play.

Either way, the matchup alone is all too enticing to have Taylor on your bench. Given Tampa Bay's 27th-ranked passing defense, Sunday has all the makeup for what could be another terrific performance from the one they call TyGod.
