7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 7
Bennie Fowler, WR, Denver Broncos
Yahoo! Ownership: 10%
The Denver Broncos wideouts are hurting. Emmanuel Sanders will not play in Week 7 due to an ankle injury, and Demaryius Thomas will give it a go, but he's not at full strength. With their top-two pass catchers hobbled, Sunday could be Bennie Fowler's time to shine.
The former Michigan State Spartan saw a season-high eight targets with Sanders exiting last week's game early, and was on the field for a team-high 75.3% of plays. Fowler will maintain a high snap and target share as the Broncos' number-two wideout behind Thomas on Sunday. And Denver's passing game draws a nice matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, who have had issues slowing down opposing wideouts this season.
The Chargers give up 24.4 fantasy points per game to receivers, the ninth-most in the NFL. Back in Week 1, Fowler took advantage of L.A.'s defense, scoring 2 touchdowns. With the Broncos underdogs, and likely leaning a little more on the passing game, Fowler is an excellent volume play who can be had in nearly 90% of leagues.
