Dion Lewis, RB, New England Patriots

Dion Lewis is another guy seeing a big uptick in playing time recently, leading the New England Patriots' backfield with 26 snaps in Week 7 and 29 in Week 6.

Lewis has been cutting into Mike Gillislee's workload on the ground, pacing the Pats with 24 carries over those two games (while Gillislee has 18).

Lewis has been great with the ball in his hands this year. Among the 49 backs with at least 40 carries this season, Lewis sits second in Rushing NEP per carry (0.15), giving him a massive edge over Gillislee, who ranks only 38th (-0.11). With this huge discrepancy in efficiency, we can expect the bulk of the Patriots' rushing work to continue shifting in Lewis' favor.

He also stands to benefit from a great matchup this week. Our metrics have the Los Angeles Chargers ranked 30th against the run, and the Pats' offense is expected to do plenty of scoring this week with an implied total of 27.75.
