7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 8
Case Keenum, QB, Minnesota Vikings
Yahoo! Ownership: 12%
Initially slated to be the Minnesota Vikings' backup to Sam Bradford, Case Keenum has been thrown into the spotlight this season, starting five games. While his performance has been a mixed bag, a matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8 gives him one of the highest floors of any quarterback owned in less than 20% of leagues.
The Browns' passing defense has been exploited early and often, giving up 14 passing touchdowns, the third-most in the NFL. They are allowing quarterbacks to score 18.9 fantasy points per game, the eighth-most in the league. The presence of Myles Garrett has helped the unit take a step forward in recent weeks, but the rookie pass rusher did not travel to London due to a concussion.
In the three games Garrett has played, opponents have thrown for an average of 194.7 yards while scoring 20.7 points per game. Without the defender pressuring the quarterback for the first four games of the season, the Browns allowed 240.8 passing yards and 26.8 points per game.
The injury news continues to swing Keenum's way as the Vikings will likely have their best receiver, Stefon Diggs, back for the first time in three weeks after he practiced in full on Thursday.
