7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 8
Ryan Griffin, TE, Houston Texans
Yahoo! Ownership: 6%
Ever since C.J. Fiedorowicz went on injured reserve with a concussion, Ryan Griffin has established himself as reliable tight end target for the Houston Texans.
In the last four games, Griffin has seen 22 targets, the second-most on the Texans, behind only DeAndre Hopkins. He saw a season-high eight targets in Week 6, finishing with 52 yards and a two-point conversion. On the surface, a matchup with the NFL's second-best passing defense, per our metrics, is not an enviable task. However, the Seattle Seahawks do have a weak spot on defense against opposing tight ends.
In their last four games, tight ends have averaged 70.8 yards per game. Evan Engram of the New York Giants finished with 60 yards and touchdown last week. Tyler Higbee of the Los Angeles Rams collected 98 yards the week before. Overall, the 'Hawks have given up the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in PPR leagues.
