7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 9
Eddie Lacy, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Yahoo! Ownership: 25%
We have been down this road before, suggesting Seattle Seahawks' running back Thomas Rawls as a play just last week. However, it appears Seattle will be moving away from the running back committee and is planning on feeding Eddie Lacy the rock this Sunday.
The veteran back had fallen behind Rawls for early-down work, seeing the field for just 12 snaps (17.4%) in Week 8. With Rawls accumulating -1 yards on 6 carries, against the Houston Texans, it makes sense for the 'Hawks to move on and give Lacy his shot at shouldering the load. He gets a solid matchup in Week 9 with the Washington Redskins coming to town.
Washington ranks in the middle of the pack in fantasy points (15th-most) and rushing yards (13th-least) allowed per game, but just last week, Ezekiel Elliott gashed the defense for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. They have also given up at least 92 total yards to running backs in five of seven games this season. It is also worth noting the Seattle added O-lineman Duane Brown in a trade this week, and the three-time Pro Bowler is expected to start this week, drastically improving a beaten up offensive line.
