Garrett Celek, TE, San Francisco 49ers

NFL.Com Start Percentage: 0.5%
Week 10 Fantasy Points: 12.7

Garrett Celek finished as this week's second-best fantasy tight end (NFL.com scoring). It's not at all uncommon to see a random tight end post a big game, but this is surprising even by tight end standards.

Celek has never averaged more than four fantasy points per game over the course of a season, and since the beginning of 2015, he has produced double-digit fantasy points just twice. Given Celek's career to date, it's unlikely he produces another big performance, so fantasy ballers can leave him safely on waivers. There are however, a couple of takeaways from Celek's big day.

Prior to Week 10, Jason Schandl pegged Celek as a player likely to produce. How'd he do that? First, he looked at the matchup. The 49ers were facing the New York Giants, who are poor at defending opposing tight ends. Second, he knew that the 49ers starting tight end, George Kittle, was out, which meant Celek would get a shot at Kittle's workload. This goes to show that looking for players who have favorable matchups can help you win your week.
