5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 10
Le'Veon Bell Has a -0.04 Rushing NEP Per Carry
After averaging at least 4.7 yards per carry in each of the past three seasons, Le'Veon Bell is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry through his first nine games of 2017. If maintained over the remainder of this season, it would be his worst mark since averaging 3.5 yards per carry as a rookie, which also happens to be his only season with a negative Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry (-0.06) mark.
His current -0.04 Rushing NEP per carry currently ranks 34th among running backs with at least 25 carries.
Bell is also on pace for his second-least efficient pass-catching season, as his 0.13 Reception NEP per target ranks 46th among all running backs with 10 or more targets. That's better than his 0.04 value in 2015, but far behind his next-lowest value of 0.42 posted in 2015.
Thanks to his incredibly high usage -- he's averaging 28.9 touches per game -- Bell is still averaging 121.2 total yards per game. Due to that heavy workload, our models project him to lead all running backs in fantasy points in Week 11 against the Tennessee Titans.
