Emmanuel Sanders Up, Demaryius Thomas Down
Once Brock Osweiler replaced Trevor Siemian as starter for the Denver Broncos in Week 9, Demaryius Thomas unsurprisingly amassed a team-high 24.7% target share. Even last week with Paxton Lynch in for 33 snaps, it was Thomas who led the team with five targets (and a 35.7% share). That will likely change with Siemian back starting under center Sunday.
When Siemian took over for Lynch late into the third quarter last week, both Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders were targeted three times each. When both receivers have been healthy with Siemian on the field, though, it's Sanders who's led the team in both red zone targets (7) and fantasy points (7.72) per game despite accruing only two fewer targets than Thomas in those outings.
Denver's upcoming matchup against the Miami Dolphins is especially enticing for Sanders seeing as how the Dolphins currently boast the league's 27th-ranked passing defense according to our metrics. Miami has also allowed the second-highest passer rating (105.7) to opposing quarterbacks this season, all the while defending the second-highest passing ratio (64%) against them.
