The Steelers Miss Joe Haden

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Joe Haden played only 10 snaps against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 before suffering a broken fibula. He's been out of action since.

For reference of his importance, note that Haden is currently Pro Football Focus' 32nd-overall ranked defensive back among 118 qualifiers in coverage this season. His absence has been noticeable -- even against the Colts in a game in which Jacoby Brissett passed for 222 yards, that median mark was achieved with only 24 attempts -- an average of 9.2 yards per attempt.

Grouping that game into the last two contests the Steelers have played without Haden, the team has now allowed 9.3 yards per attempt without its top corner and 6.5 yards per attempt in the eight games he's played. That's clearly great news for A.J. Green, who ranks top-10 in target share (28.57%) among all receivers the last three games, and even Brandon LaFell, who's seen only three fewer targets than Green (24 to 21) over the last three weeks.
