Fantasy Football: 4 Things We Learned From Week 13
Josh Gordon Is Back
It's been a long time coming, but Josh Gordon has finally returned. We haven't seen Gordon in action since the end of 2014, but on Sunday, it seemed like he didn't miss a beat.
While his box score might not seem too impressive, Gordon's peripheral metrics were terrific in his first game back. He drew 11 targets against the Chargers, the seventh-most of any player this week (pending Monday Night Football).
They were high-value targets for fantasy, too. Gordon's 210 air yards -- or the total number of yards thrown to him including incomplete passes -- were the fourth-highest mark of the week. In other words, Gordon's potential is still through the roof after all these years away from the game.
Look for him to convert more of those air yards into fantasy points going forward. The Browns' schedule isn't easy, but two of the strong defenses they face in the coming weeks -- Ravens and Steelers -- lost important cornerbacks recently (Jimmy Smith and Joe Haden). Gordon could feast on injured secondaries just in time for your fantasy playoffs.
