Drew Stanton, QB, Arizona Cardinals
DraftKings Price: $4,500
Sorry Blaine Gabbert truthers, the jig is up. After a hot first two games, Gabbert regressed back to himself. A 16-for-41 day will not do, and the Arizona Cardinals have decided to move back to Drew Stanton for the rest of the season. Stanton has been terrible in his own right, with only 44 completions on 91 attempts this season, a pathetic 48.35% clip. Yet, the job is his, and we need to consider him for fantasy purposes.
As bad as Stanton has been from a real-life perspective, he's actually been decent from a fantasy perspective -- at least for his price. He's topped 15 points in each of his last two starts (Weeks 9 and 10) and gets one of the juiciest matchups on the slate this week, facing a New York Giants defense that is giving up the second-most DraftKings points per game to opposing quarterbacks. The Giants have allowed opposing quarterbacks to hit 15 DraftKings points in all but one game since Week 3. They've also allowed seven opposing quarterbacks to collect three scores this season.
Stanton is no doubt a risky option. But if you want to fit in three high-end players at other skill positions and crave a quarterback in tournaments who will see very little ownership, Stanton fits the bill.
