Jakeem Grant was the second-best fantasy wide receiver this week, and literally no one benefited from the performance.

Grant tallied 106 yards and a touchdown on 4 receptions, but he remains well off the fantasy radar. Week 16 marked just the second time all year that he's had more than two targets in a game.

Grant is a speed demon -- he clocked a 4.38-second 40-yard dash time prior to the 2016 NFL draft. But he's also very small by NFL standards, standing just 5'6" and weighing 165 pounds. There's a first time for everything, but if history is any indicator, Grant won't become a fantasy asset anytime soon. According to Pro Football Reference, since 2000, only one player shorter than 5'7" and weighing less than 175 pounds has put up more than 500 yards from scrimmage in a season. That player (Andrew Hawkins) did it twice, but the track record for players of Grant's stature is poor.

Heading into this offseason, the Dolphins' top receiver, Jarvis Landry, is a free agent. That means there's some potential for Grant to earn a larger role on offense, but the odds of that happening -- or translating to fantasy relevance -- seem long. Enjoy Grant's big game, but leave him safely on the waiver wire.
