7. Zay Jones, Buffalo Bills

A prolific compiler of yards and receptions in college, Zay Jones didn't transfer this particular ability to the pros with the Buffalo Bills in 2017. His 36.49% catch rate was the third-worst mark among players with at least 30 targets.

Jones did get targeted 14 times between Weeks 9 and 11, converting those looks into 10 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. It looked promising at the time, but this two-game span ended up accounting for 38.3% of his total yardage, 37.0% of his receptions, and 50.0% of his touchdowns. He posted a woeful 4.3 yards per target and saw 33 yards or fewer in 13 of his 15 outings.

The Bills' passing game was not exactly the home of high end wide receiver production, though. Jones and Jordan Matthews were the only two wide receivers to receive at least 30 targets, and while it took 74 targets to get Jones his 27 catches, Matthews caught 25 balls on 38 fewer targets.

Matthews posted a Target NEP per target of 0.43. It was a shame that he batted injury for much of the season, leaving Jones to endure a rougher rookie campaign than he probably needed.
