The 10 Most Efficient Wide Receivers in 2017

JuJu Smith-Schuster enjoyed a stellar rookie season for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was he the NFL's most efficient wide receiver, per our metrics?

After taking a look at the 10 least efficient NFL wide receivers this past season, we're going the more optimistic route this time.

At numberFire, we use a metric called Net Expected Points (NEP) to evaluate teams and players. Not all plays are created equal, and NEP allows us to differentiate the value between a 10-yard completion on 3rd and 2 and a 10-yard completion on 4th and 12. We'll be using Target NEP per target to rank these players because it allows us to look at all them on a certain team to find out just how well they've performed in comparison with his teammates.

Most of the signal-callers who got the ball to the following 10 wideouts were at or near the very top of their position in 2017, but still, these receivers managed to significantly distance themselves from the others on their team. Unless, of course, they also have a teammate in the top 10, which (spoiler alert) just may happen.
