Many people were surprised that Matt Forte remained on the New York Jets roster for 2017, especially after most other veterans of a similar vintage were cast aside before the season. Forte didn't do much last year to make a case to remain on the rebuilding Jets going forward as he toaled 381 rushing yards at a pedestrian 3.7 yards per carry.

Among the 47 backs with at least 100 rushes, Forte was 39th in Rushing NEP per carry at -0.12. He fared just a little better in terms of Success Rate, coming in 35th in that subset at a mark of 34.95%.
