Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has been the QB11 (2017) and QB6 the past two years, yet he's being taken as the QB21 this season, according to Fantasy Football Calculator.
The reason for Prescott's slipping fantasy stock likely stems from all the question marks the Dallas Cowboys have at receiver and tight end. While Dallas definitely has a lot of moving parts at those positions, it may not impact Prescott's fantasy production too much because his fantasy output isn't wholly reliant on his passing ability.
In fact, he's never ranked inside the top 15 in pass attempts or passing yards in either of his two seasons. Rather, Dak's fantasy goodness comes from his running ability and the scoring chances that come via Dallas' superb offensive line.
Prescott has put up 23 and 22 passing scores over the last two years, and he's averaged 57.0 carries, 319.5 rushing yards and 6.0 tuddies on the ground for his career. And Dallas should still have a quality offense even without Jason Witten and Dez Bryant. Their offensive line is elite -- our Jim Sannes ranked the unit second -- and our models project them to have the league's 12th-best offense.
So, in short, the things that have made Prescott a QB1 (top-12) option throughout his career -- his legs and a spot in a quality offense -- are still in place, and you can get him at a nice discount this season. --Austan Kas
