15 Bold Fantasy Football Predictions for the 2018 Season
Trey Burton Will Outscore Greg Olsen
Why This Is Bold: Greg Olsen is being drafted four tight end spots ahead of Trey Burton.
Why This Will Happen: Olsen enters the season with just one touchdown across his last 15 regular season games, while his yards per route run -- courtesy of Pro Football Focus -- has dropped in each of the last three years. And all the while, he's got more competition for targets in the Panthers offense than he's arguably ever seen, with Christian McCaffrey, Devin Funchess, and rookie D.J. Moore all slated to see decent to heavy involvement.
Burton's offense could end up featuring him quite a bit. Matt Nagy, Chicago's new head coach, is coming off a two-year stint with the Chiefs where his tight end, Travis Kelce, saw at least 21% of the team's targets in both seasons. There's some opposition for looks in the offense, but just as Olsen could see a dip in volume, Burton could emerge as his team's number-two pass-catching option. And we've already seen that be the case so far in the preseason.
