JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 1 2017 Salary: $4,800
Week 1 2018 Salary: $7,000
Is there anybody that isn't enamored with JuJu Smith-Schuster heading into the 2018 season? Maybe the dude that stole his bike last season...and the rest of the AFC North. Other than that, though? JuJu's a likable player who just so happens to be one of the most explosive young (21 years old) receivers in the NFL.
JuJu enters his second season with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a high note. He finished the 2017 season with 58 catches for 917 yards and 7 receiving scores in 13 games. That production was good for an average of 12.05 FanDuel points per game last season, the 13th-best per-game output among wide receivers.
He has a very good chance to become even more productive this season, especially if Le'Veon Bell's holdout lasts longer than this week. Both he and Antonio Brown have a very solid chance to finish the season inside the top 10, a feat that was last accomplished by Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams in 2016.
This week, he gets to face a Cleveland Browns team who he feasted on in Week 17, catching 9 passes for 143 yards and a score. Oh, he also tacked on a return touchdown that week to finish with 30.8 FanDuel points. Our models don't expect that type of output from him this week. We currently project him for 10.5 FanDuel points, but it is clear that he is primed for a big season, and his $2,200 jump is warranted for all the talent and potential he possesses.
