8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 2
Jalen Richard, RB, Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders' offense was an absolute mess in Week 1. Yes, the Los Angeles Rams' defense is a tough matchup, but the Raiders managed only 13 points -- getting blanked in the second half.
Their passing game looked like a wreck from a real-world standpoint, not targeting any wide receiver more than four times, but that has also created some very intriguing spots for fantasy football. Jared Cook (a sleeper I wrote up last week) led the team with 12 targets, and the only other player to see more than 4 looks was Jalen Richard, who notched 11 out of the backfield.
Those 11 targets were good for 28% of the team's total, which was the second-highest mark among running backs in Week 1. Richard also added 5 carries, which was second only to Marshawn Lynch (11) among Raiders' backs.
The Raiders are 6.0-point road underdogs this week, meaning we should see them forced into plenty of passing volume against Denver.
It's unrealistic to expect Richard to see double-digit targets with regularity, but a pass-heavy game script like Week 2 puts him in a great spot to play a significant role again on Sunday.
