24 | Miami Dolphins | -1.68 | 2-0 | 43.6% | 24 | 1 | +2 |
Of all the teams with perfect records this year, our numbers are the least enthusiastic about the undefeated Miami Dolphins.
For the season, Miami has been out-gained in terms of both total yards (-99) and yards per play (-0.2), and was starting from a low place to start with (the Dolphins came into the season ranked 30th by our models).
They do look considerably better in terms of success rate, where the Dolphins sit at +9.2%, and they currently have the top defense by Net Expected Points (you can read more about NEP and success rate here).
Still, the quality of competition has not been great. The Dolphins edged the 27th-ranked Tennessee Titans at home in Week 1, and beat the Jets and their 22nd ranked offense on Sunday, so we probably need to wait to see more before getting too excited about the Dolphins.
