3 Daily Fantasy Football Players to Avoid in Week 5
Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers
FanDuel Price: $8,000

The Green Bay Packers' offense has yet to find a groove through the seasons' first four weeks, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled through injury to finish as a weekly QB1 on only one occasion. The Packers' running game has also struggled, and fantasy production for this squad across the board has been surprisingly thin.
One bright spot has been the continued emergence of Davante Adams as one of the most reliable assets in the NFL. Adams has caught a touchdown in three of four contests, and has averaged 10.75 targets per game as Rodgers' preferred target in the passing game. Despite being peppered with opportunities, Adams has not yet eclipsed 100 yards, which speaks to the inefficiency thus far of this Green Bay offense.
While we can certainly count on volume from week-to-week with Adams, especially with fellow wideouts Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison very questionable this week, his individual matchup with Darius Slay is one that should grab our attention. Adams should see shadow coverage from Slay, and he managed only 53 yards on 7 catches in their one meeting last year where Adams was healthy. Add in the fact that the Lions have struggled mightily against the run, and the Packers may be handing the ball off more than usual this week.
With a bevy of solid cheap options at the wide receiver position once again this week, it makes sense to avoid Adams this week.
