Week 4 Fantasy Football Market Share Report: Corey Davis Is Breaking Out
Red-Zone Market Shares
1. Jared Cook Is Rolling
Lost among the many inconsistent factors surrounding the Oakland Raiders this season is the stellar play of tight end Jared Cook. His improved play is most evident in the red zone, where Cook has garnered eight targets so far.
Cook’s eight targets put him behind only the elite producers in the red zone. Thus far Cook has four receptions inside the 20, with three touchdowns among those grabs. Four red-zone grabs is the same amount that Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson have.
Overall, Cook's 21% target share sits fourth among tight ends, and his 22% share of his team's air yards is sixth at the position.
With Cooper yet to string together a stretch of good games, Cook is the most reliable fantasy performer in this Oakland passing attack.
2. Lamar Miller's Usage Is There
Lamar Miller has the fifth-most red-zone rushes (12) in the NFL -- trailing only Todd Gurley (20), Alvin Kamara (20), Carlos Hyde (14) and Marshawn Lynch (13).
But Miller doesn't have a single rushing touchdown this year, and his 12 red-zone rushes are the most of anyone without a rushing touchdown. (He did catch a 4-yard touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 3.)
Despite the clunky start to the season, the Houston Texans won on Sunday and got back to their high-scoring ways. Miller is the only back going in the Houston offense, and he stands to eventually get into the end zone with his usage rate around the red zone.
Keep a close eye on the injury report, though, Miller has an unspecified injury and is not certain to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
