8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 5
Josh Doctson, WR, Washington
A disappointing Week 3 and a bye in Week 4 have Josh Doctson off of most fantasy players' radars, but it's not time to quit on the Washington wideout just yet.
He's fourth on the team with 13 targets (14.0% market share), and that is definitely not the kind of volume that is going to make a player relevant in fantasy football. Three games (and 99 pass attempts as a team) are still a pretty small sample size though.
Doctson has led the team's wideouts in snaps in all three games this season, playing 88% overall, which soundly trumps the next-best marks of 81% and 72%. If those snaps continue to fail to translate to targets, we can write him off, but for now there's still plenty of room for optimism.
This week's matchup also puts him in a prime spot for a breakout. The New Orleans Saints allow the most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts (by a huge margin), while ranking 30th in numberFire's pass defense metrics.
