Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions

You could hear fantasy owners across the world cringing as they saw Kerryon Johnson limping off the field with an ankle injury during the Detroit Lions' Week 5 win over the Green Bay Packers. The ankle injury doesn't look like it will keep the dynamic rookie out for long -- and he'll have an extra week to heal with a bye week coming up for the Lions in Week 6 -- but it doesn't hurt to think about the what-ifs.
Those contingency plans should include Theo Riddick, last year's RB26 in PPR leagues. Riddick's 2018 season has been relatively quiet. With Johnson and new Lion LeGarrette Blount around to take touches away, Riddick has seen just 6.2 touches per game, which is down roughly 2.3 touches from last year.
Riddick has rarely been a guy who has won you a weekly matchup on his own, but when he gets the opportunity, he provides consistent value in PPR leagues. If Johnson is out past the bye week, Riddick should at least see an uptick in touches.
Week 6 brings a matchup against the Miami Dolphins, a team who had given up the fifth-most receptions to opposing running backs entering Week 5. They gave up five more receptions to backs against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Not everybody is going to benefit from picking up Riddick, but if you are a Kerryon owner with room to spare, you could do a lot worse than stashing Theo, even if it's only for a couple of weeks.
