NFC East

Dallas Cowboys - Gallup Seeing Increased Work

Quarterback: Dak Prescott (92%)

Running Back: Ezekiel Elliott (86%)

Wide Receivers: Michael Gallup (81%), Allen Hurns (78%), Cole Beasley (58%)

Tight End: Geoff Swaim (90%), Blake Jarwin (30%)

MIchael Gallup entered Week 6 having not been on the field for more than 58% of the Cowboys' snaps in a game. He was at only 39% in Week 5, but more than doubled that to 81% in Week 6. Those numbers could repeat again next week against the Washington Redskins, especially as it looks like Tavon Austin is likely to miss Week 7. Though the rookie finished Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with just 1 catch for 27 yards and has maxed out at 45 yards in a game this season, opportunity begets scoring. Cole Beasley isn't going to get 55% of the team's targets every week.

New York Giants - Simonson Likely to See Major Drop-off in Work

Quarterback: Eli Manning (100%)

Running Backs: Saquon Barkley (77%), Wayne Gallman (26%)

Wide Receivers: Odell Beckham (97%), Sterling Shepard (97%), Cody Latimer (49%)

Tight Ends: Scott Simonson (97%), Garrett Dickerson (15%)

New York Giants tight end Scott Simonson was on the field for 97% of the team's offensive snaps last Thursday. Don't expect that to last. Simonson was the beneficiary of Evan Engram's absence and the inability of the Giants to block for anyone other than Saquon Barkley, who was the lone bright spot on the 1-5 Giants in a terrible division loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Engram practiced on Tuesday and should be back this week. Barring another injury, it's unlikely that Simonson sees 40% of the snaps going forward, let alone 97%.

Philadelphia Eagles - Smallwood Stakes His Claim

Quarterback: Nick Foles (100%)

Running Backs: Wendell Smallwood (62%), Corey Clement (37%)

Wide Receivers: Nelson Agholor (90%), Alshon Jeffery (83%), Jordan Matthews (37%), Kamar Aiken (20%)

Tight End: Zach Ertz (100%), Dallas Goedert (45%)

With Jay Ajayi done for the season and Darren Sproles continuing to be MIA due to a hamstring injury, Wendell Smallwood has been given a huge opportunity in the Eagles' backfield. He out-touched teammate Corey Clement 19-14 and was on the field for 25% more of the Eagles' snaps. Clement was coming off an injury himself, however, so the workload could even out a little more going forward and even tip towards Clement's favor. Despite that, Smallwood has clearly carved out a role for himself, even when (if?) Sproles returns. He should be owned in all leagues with at least 12 teams.

Washington Redskins - Harris Benefits Again from Injury

Quarterback: Alex Smith (100%)

Running Backs: Adrian Peterson (53%), Kapri Bibbs (37%), Samaje Perine (11%)

Wide Receivers: Josh Doctson (84%), Paul Richardson (74%), Maurice Harris (63%), Brian Quick (16%)

Tight Ends: Jordan Reed (67%), Vernon Davis (51%), Jeremy Sprinkle (30%)

In Week 5, Redskins receiver Maurice Harris got a spot start for teammate Josh Doctson, who was dealing with a heel injury. Though Doctson was back in Week 6, Jamison Crowder was hurt, giving Harris yet another solid run. Crowder will not practice until at least Friday, so Harris--who caught three passes in each of the past two weeks--should once again be lined up for at least 60% of Washington's offensive snaps. The matchup won't be easy, though. He'll get a Dallas Cowboys defense that is giving up the fourth-fewest standard points per game per wideouts. Though opportunity awaits, Harris should be avoided this week.
